Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! The Rego Park location is grossly overcrowded, poorly designed, machines are often needing repairs and the locker rooms are disgusting. There is zero management presence and the facility is very poorly maintained. Every third machine is broken. Save us all some time, just put signs on working machines and our workouts will go a lot quicker. The only thing that’s meticulously maintained is their printer for printing out all them out of order signs! Machines are placed haphazardly and the layout doesn’t make any sense. The turf area takes up too much space and is grossly underutilized. The dumbbell room is one of the busiest areas yet confined to a crammed room with zero ventilation wreaking of body odor. There are sufficient power racks so the ridiculously large wooden platforms are a waste of space and trip hazard. One easy fix is to buy more plates to address the ridiculous shortage, which has not been done. It’s very frustrating to have to search for plates and carry across the room to your machine. Each machine should be stacked with weights to avoid this annoying ongoing hassle. Also fix the lockers as every other one is needing repair. This location is a notorious high school hangout. Way too many kids hanging around, loitering and monopolizing machines while on their phones. Management needs to be more proactive in addressing this major problem. And tripods should not be allowed on the floor for obvious reasons. It is blatant management does not care. Something as simple as buying more plates they are not willing to do. What is justifying the constant rate increases?

Apr 02, 2025 · P CI have been training for a year at NYSC in Rego Park... ever since they told me that they were going to put in new machines... but they haven't done it. Half of the machines are damaged and it takes a month to fix them and it is always like this... the sauna does not work and the cleaning service is terrible, bad smell in the changing tables, there is no hand soap. dirty carpets. They actually charge maintenance that is not seen, and a monthly payment that is punctual but is not worth it. It wouldn't be fair to recommend this place. and I am an active member because I live 3 blocks away and it is the closest I have to my house
Feb 07, 2025 · Rory AlemanAre you a tri-pod lifter, who worries more about filming content then actually doing a workout in the gym? Do you want to spend 5 hours at the rig blocking the other rigs with your tripod to film your 3 sets of deadlifts? Want to vape on the gym floor and canoodle in the lifting area? Want to leave equipment wherever it lands and not clean up after yourself? Always wanted to try out barbells but don’t have a clue how to use them safely? Don’t like clipping the weights on the bar especially when using more weight than you can lift so the weights fly off? Is hygiene not important to you and using hand soap overrated? Don’t like using dumbbells under 40lbs and like taking laps to find dumbbells that are randomly strewn around the gym? Enjoy lifting with dumbbells in a toxic smelling room with no air? Need somewhere for your teenager to go after school without being chaperoned and no rules? THEN THIS IS THE GYM FOR YOU! A gym that promotes barbell club and lies about getting equipment for those who want to lift. It’s been 11 months of promises, and nothing has changed except the managers, who all claim to be new and don’t know anything and constantly state: wow I had no idea when asked about anything. Oh and of course, a membership price increase to cover improvements, when nothing has improved. Stealing of rower foot pedals (why is this a thing), rowers that haven’t been serviced and don’t work correctly if at all. Treadmills are all set to different inclines, you never know what incline you are on, but according to management are fine. Ski ergs that don’t work and never worked. Promises of 15kg Olympic barbells for 11 months and zero movement, each manager confused there aren’t any then guaranteeing they would get them only to repeat that statement 2 weeks later. 6 weeks to get soap in the ladies’ locker room and the place is a never properly cleaned so if you touch something you will end up with random dirt and ick and who knows what else on you. This is the only local gym, so we have no options, and it really is sad how poorly management has let this gym go. They promote having management walk through weekly to monitor the equipment, which is not possible. That would require them to leave the front desk, they can’t even refill the water system they just got… Edit to add: doing better and the water is broken? But buy a .99 bottle for 1.90 from NYSC? Yeah so maybe fire your internet person and fix your gym!! These standard responses are like bot written
Mar 02, 2025 · J LLI’ve been coming to this gym for 1+ year and I definitely have some concerns. The stairs machines haven’t worked well since I signed up, only one “works well” and even that one still have some issues. They just have ONE smith machine and is broken. Only ONE abductors machine and is broken. The recovery room was supposed to be working 1 month after I signed, and still not open to the public. I don’t know who runs the gym, but looks like they don’t care that much. Still the only gym around instead of planet fitness and thinking about changing for that one. Anyway, they have a good place but someone who really cares and wants to re-invest the money needs to get in charge.
Jan 26, 2025 · Juanma SalazarI've been working out with my personal trainer, Shereen for almost 6 months now. I've seen great progress and I always look forward to my sessions. She's helped me feel more confident with the equipment so I feel confident going on my own. I appreciate how she works with my specific needs and limitations. Definitely recommend personal training if you're new to working out. That said, I wish that people here would put weights, etc back when they're done. I spend a lot of time walking around looking for them. Additionally the elevator has been out of service since I started going and a lot of people struggle with the stairs. 5 star review is for my trainer.
