I finally decided to make the >1 hour trek to the location last saturday and turns out there are only two courts (for 4 people each) available to play for adults (rest are for high school students) and over 10 adults in queue. I was surprised because when I last posted the question about availability or scheduling, I received a response that there's sufficient room and people can just play whenever they want without reserving/booking. I don't mind that and completely understand the constraints of a free/voluntary organization like this but I wish people are well aware of the long queues to expect before they make the trek all the way there. That's why I am posting this - so people have this important information.
