This is a serious Iyengar Yoga studio, but it is completely novice-friendly and welcoming to new students. The space is beautiful, immaculate, serene, and extremely well equipped with all the props you could ever want. No need to schlep your own mat. The instructors are experienced, professional and extremely well equipped to deal with students at all levels of experience and dedication to the practice of yoga. They offer the most thorough, clear yoga instruction I have ever had. There is a prevailing attitude that yoga is for everybody. No judgement – just incredible support, guidance and a willingness to share their knowledge. I wouldn’t consider practicing anywhere else. In addition to the amazing classes, they offer weekend workshops which focus on different body parts: hips, back, shoulders etc. The workshops are reasonably priced considering the quality and the amount of relevant information shared. One comes away from these workshops with a deeper understanding of how the body works and how to manage it. I always feel amazing after class. My posture has improved and as time passes, my lower back pain keeps diminishing. I credit this studio for improving my posture, yoga practice and my musculoskeletal health. Thank you!

Feb 23, 2025 · Patricia TercekTaking online classes with yoga instructor Tzahi Moskovitz was a truly wonderful experience. I don’t regularly practice yoga and haven’t attended many yoga classes, but whenever I did, I often found it hard to keep up because the instructors moved too quickly. That wasn’t the case with Tzahi—his pace was steady and manageable, making it easy to follow along. What made his classes even more special was the way he shared stories about the history of the poses, adding depth and insight into Iyengar yoga. He was also incredibly encouraging, which made me feel comfortable and motivated as a beginner. I highly recommend taking classes with Tzahi!
Mar 24, 2025 · Joan MenaIyengar yoga is a thorough system of mindful movement and alignment which is taught internationally. I enjoy the NY studio because of the knowledgeable teachers and friendly community of dedicated students. The teachers have varied styles and the each maintain the precise Iyengar attention to detail. You will get personalized feedback designed to help you practice safely. Iyengar yoga uses a lot of props to support the body, and in this studio I appreciate having such an array of equipment available!
Aug 17, 2024 · Lisa LevittI have been studying Iyengar Yoga for over 12 years. I was brought to a level 1 class, (I was 68) and it was all completely new to me. What I loved most about the class was the teacher Lara Warren who was so clear about how to do each pose and to demonstrate each pose. That Lara's teaching so enchanted me that I immediately sign up for her class. I started going once a week then twice a week then 3 times a week. The teachers are ALL AMAZING and what I love most about Iyengar Yoga is the educational aspect of learning all about your body by learning how to do the pose as best you can. The folks that come to Iyengar Yoga are of all ages so that contributes to the class. I highly highly recommend studying at Iyengar Yoga.
Jul 30, 2024 · Liam CunninghamIf you are serious about yoga, or want to start out with a solid foundation, this is the place. Iyengar Yoga has the most highly trained yoga teachers in the country and it shows. Once you have found a teacher(s) that resonates with you, your practice will truly flourish. I still discover new and wonderful things about the practice after 20 years of taking classes at the Institute.
